A stylishly simple yoke-back antique chair which has been historically stripped of all its lacquer and paint over the passage of time - our Antique officials chair | Kalani has beautiful sun-bleached surfaces.

This type of chair is also known as a hat chair as the top rail was often used to hang a hat on whilst seated.

The turned top rail is shaped and worn smooth with the passage of time.

Made from elm and poplar wood, these chairs are entirely regionally handmade and originate from Shanxi Province in China. They are 19th century so well over 100 years old.

The high backs of these gorgeous chairs make them a real statement piece perfect for an entrance hall or landing.
